Antique Neapolitan Creche' figure of a man with oil painted terracotta head and limbs and cloth body. He is wearing a gold vest, a Blue jacket with red trim, and lavender pants. The clothes are original silk and quite complete but show wear.
The 18th Century Neapolitan Creche’ Doll figures were initially collected to display the nativity scene of the Christ child, Joseph, Mary, wise men, shepherds. Neapolitan citizens of all walks of life were created.
18th century. It is 8.5" high by 4.5" wide. He is in good condition for his age with the exception of the fingers on both hands.
He stands on a Venetian stye floor 6" by 5 " and .75 inches tall.
